Spring break is just around the corner, which means you get a quick break from school, work and other responsibilities. However, that doesn’t mean you get a quick break from smile care. In fact, you still need to do everything you can to keep your teeth and gums in tip-top shape while you’re on vacation. You don’t want to suffer dental problems, do you? So, our dentist here in Midlothian, VA, encourages you to have a smile-healthy spring break by doing the following things:

– Pack your oral hygiene tools: Make sure to pack your toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash with you on spring break. Remember: If you’re traveling on an airplane, you can’t take liquid oral hygiene tools that weigh more than 3.4 ounces.

– Clean your smile: After you pack your oral hygiene tools, use them! Even though you’ll be busy with your fun adventures, you still need to clean your smile. So, brush twice a day, floss once a day and rinse daily. This can help you maintain a top-notch smile and avoid dental issues.

– Wear a mouthguard: If you are planning on participating in high-contact activities on spring break, wear a mouthguard. The mouthguard can help you avoid oral injuries when you suffer a blow to the face.
